Sneakerz & Jeanzz a success
DESPITE the early showers, the sixth staging of Magnum Sneakerz and Jeanzz was a success, according to event co-promoter Junior ‘Kurt’ Richards.
The event, ‘Barely Covered’ edition, was held at the Church Pen Scheme football field in Old Harbour, St Catherine, last Saturday.
“It was great, actually. We got some rain in the early hours, but the party got started shortly after midnight,” he told the Jamaica Observer. “It didn’t end until after 5:00 am on Sunday, and even then, the people didn’t want to go home,” he continued.
The evening saw female patrons arriving in their short shorts and skimpy tops, and revelling until daylight.
“The dancing was the highlight of the party. The ladies really went all out on the dance floor,” said Richards.
The selections were provided by High Tension sound system. ZJ Dymond of Zip FM, Chub Rock & DJ Kyle, and Force Ripe from Global Disco controlled the turntables for the evening.
“Although we did not reach the target of 1,000 patrons that was set for this year, the turnout was still great. We saw about 800 people this time around, which is an improvement from last year,” he said.
“I would like to use the opportunity to thank the many persons who have supported me throughout the years, as well as my sponsors, who, without them, none of this would be possible,” he added.
