Red Stripe soothes grumpy winner
Dear Claudienne,
I live in Trelawny, and I sometimes wonder if these things seek me out or if it’s just that I will not just ‘let it go’.
Most evenings I enjoy a couple of Red Stripes sitting on my verandah and enjoying the breeze. So I was happy to start getting codes under the caps and the promise of prizes!
I went to the website and registered to enter, then received an e-mail on May 15, to activate my Diageo profile. This resulted in a personalised page when I wanted to enter the ‘unique code’ under the cap.
I proceeded to enter my caps and had several ‘winners’, and $50 was added to my phone for each one. I was a very happy Red Stripe drinker, until the Digi credits didn’t follow the winning message.
Although I contacted Red Stripe about this, I still have six $50 Digicel credits outstanding and feel that as the promotion ends at midnight (today June 30), no one will be bothering to contact me and whoever is in charge hopes that I will ‘let it go’.
The BEWARE message on June 22 I also posted on their Facebook page (it’s gone now), and they told me to send details in a private message that included the words that it was I who was ‘experiencing problems with the promotion’.
These are the messages I sent to Red Stripe and their replies :
“Monday 18th May, I entered the contest and was told I had won $50 Digicel credit, but as of now it still hasn’t reached my phone.”
Diageo (Red Stripe) replied on May 19 at 6:35 pm: “Hi SM, The credit should get to your phone automatically within 36 hours. In the meantime, would you mind sending your number so we may investigate?”
May 20 — “It’s now 50+ hours, still no news of where my credit went.”
June 12 — “Is there a problem today? I entered a ‘winning’ code about 5 am and another after 5 pm and no credit has been added… it is now 7.17pm.”
June 12 — 7:23pm Red Stripe replied: “We apologise for the delay, SM. Your credit should be added soon.”
June 14 3:20 pm — “Red Stripe, please define ‘soon’. Still no credit from Friday’s winners and neither from this morning’s. What is the problem? On May 19 I was told ‘within 36 hours’.”
June 16 — I asked Red Stripe: “Why have I not received any of the $50 credits I have won since Friday on Beerballaz promotion?”
June 16 4:22 pm — Red Stripe replied: “Hi SM, the team is paying particular attention to investigating your matter. We will advise of the outcome soon. Thanks for your patience.”
June 16 5:04 pm — I told Red Stripe: “I still have the ‘winners’ so can send the unique codes if you wish.”
June 19 8:42 am — I told Red Stripe: “It’s Friday again… 2 ‘winners’ and no credits, think you need to investigate further and more quickly.”
June 22 — My message was: “Red Stripe, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND SORT THIS PROBLEM OUT.”
June 23 at 3:45 pm — Red Stripe replied: “Hi SM, We will have our team investigate the matter shortly.
Thanks for your patience.”
However, up to when the contest ended on June 30 no one from Red Stripe had got back to me.
I would appreciate your help in having this matter sorted out.
SM
Dear SM,
Tell Claudienne has been in communication with the Red Stripe (a DIAGEO Company) Brand Manager, and on July 13 she sent us an e-mail that stated:
“The issue has been investigated and resolved and SM’s airtime credit has been adjusted.
If there are any further matters on this, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks, Claudienne, for reaching out.
Cheers.”
We hope that the matter has been settled to your satisfaction.
Good luck.
Dear Claudienne,
My wife who was a public servant died on August 25, 2013. I applied to the Ministry of Finance for the Widows and Orphans benefit, and when the matter was finalised I went to the Accountant General’s Department on May 7, 2015 and gave them my bank account number, my TRN and my ID. I also filled out a form and was told that I would hear from them in five to six weeks. When I did not hear from them I went back to the office on June 25. They told me that the cheque was not ready and they did not know when it would be ready.
Please assist me to get more concrete information as to when the benefit will be paid to me.
VC
Dear VC,
The Accountant General told Tell Claudienne that your benefit has been calculated. The supervisor will recheck the calculation and “load” it to your account by July 31 the latest. We will follow this up, and please let us know when you receive it.
Good luck.
