Many are still reliving the highlights of Reggae Sumfest last week, and the showing definitely proved why it’s called the greatest reggae show on earth. Special shout out to Lady Saw who was the first female dancehall artiste to close Dancehall Night since the show’s inception. The reigning ‘queen of dancehall’ definitely proved that she’s still got it, and we still got you when it comes to your local and international top 10 top-up, in this week’s Hottraxx. Now the lists:

Local List1 Answer Me– Masicka ft Ishawna- In the top spot place this week are Ishawna and Masicka with Answer Me. 2 Sometimes (Yuh Nuh Easy)– Vybz Kartel- In the second place spot this week is Vybz Kartel with Sometimes. The Incarcerated mentor aka ‘Teacha’ of some of Jamaica’s best dancehall talents can certainly hold his head high as two of his young protégés, Popcaan and Gaza Slim aka Vanessa Bling, were two of the noteworthy acts on Reggae Night. Special kudos to Vanessa Bling who was called ‘most improved performer’ of the night.3 On Fleek– Alkaline- Slipping into the third place spot this week is Alkaline with On Fleek.4 Text Message– Busy Signal- In fourth place this week is Busy Signal with Text Message. The song is currently in its fourth week on our list. Big up yourself Busy.5 Bit Too Shy– Sevana- She caught our eye with an acoustic version of her song Chant It, and now she has our attention with her new hit Bit Too Shy, who else could we be talking about but Sevana. We have all seen Jamaican artiste remix their songs to create buzz but when you take a song from three years ago that was already great locally, then remix and release it internationally and it becomes #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and you get a live performance gig on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, it’s safe to say that you not only made it but you’re also winning. The song currently has over 62 million views on YouTube and you can’t pass a radio and not hear it. Shout out to Omi who’s doing his thing in a big way.2 This Summer’s Gonna Hurt– Maroon 5- In the second place spot this week is Maroon 5 with their new summer anthem This Summer’s Gonna Hurt. The band is currently on tour but two concerts in China have been cancelled. No official word has been released as to the reasons for the cancellations.3 Good For You– Selena Gomez- Breaking into the third place spot this week is Selena Gomez with her new hit Good For You. The song expresses her desire to look good for her man, as if that was ever an issue, the ‘Disney darling’ has certainly come into her own and we can’t wait to see what else she has in store.4 All Eyes On You– Nicki Minaj Meek Millz and Chris Brown- In the fourth place spot this week is raps’ hottest couple #Nick&Meek and close friend Breezy with All Eyes On You. 5 BBHMM– Rihanna- Rounding out our top five for this week is Rihanna with BBHMM. Rihanna’s relationship status is slowly but surely heating up with Real Madrid forward, Karim Benzema.
