BRANDED – Sean Garbutt
Thursday Life (TL): How did you land this job?
Sean Garbutt (SG) :I was already working with Associated Manufacturers Limited and was promoted to Group Marketing Director to handle the needs of our growing Walkerswood brand, with special focus on developments in our major export markets.
TL: How long have you been in this job?
SG: I have been handling the marketing portfolio for Walkerswood for the past seven years, and each year we continue to grow with confidence.
TL: What’s great about your job?
SG: The greatest part of my job is getting to work closely with our Jamaican farmers. They are the strength of Jamaica. Each time I visit a farmer in his field I am left with a feeling of confidence in our future and the food safety of our children. An equally fulfilling part of my job is to interact with our consumers across Jamaica and in the diaspora. They are the backbone of our success and are truly our brand ambassadors.
TL: What attracts consumers to your brand?
SG: We always receive compliments on our bright and colourful product packaging and branding. It helps us to stand out on the global stage and has won us high marks in all our markets. Secondly, once we have won them over with our looks, we wow them with our flavours, the quality of our products and the satisfaction of our consistency in delivering the same wonderful experience every time.
TL: Where can consumers find out more about your brand?
SG: Our fans can learn more about our Walkerswood brand by visiting our website – www.walkerswood.com as we have our history, product information, videos and a wonderful selection of Caribbean-inspired recipes. Also we encourage our fans to engage us on our social media pages as we love to hear from you.
TL: Tell us something we might not know about your brand.
SG: We have a new Spicy Guava BBQ sauce which we plan to launch in the retail trade in the next few months. However, for those customers who don’t wish to wait that long, they can go to their nearest Island Grill location and try their new jerk pork product which comes with our Guava BBQ sauce as a dip. This is a brand new promotion, just launched July 12th, 2015 and is a combination of Island Grill, Copperwood Pork and Walkerswood. The early results show that it is a winner!
TL: Do you have any additional news you wish to share with your customers?
SG: In other news our classic Walkerswood Solomon Gundy is back on the shelves and just in time to make a big splash for summer – Enjoy!
