Guns, ammo seized in Westmoreland
THE Whithorn Police seized two firearms and several rounds of ammunition along the Petersfield main road in Westmoreland on Saturday. A man was arrested in connection with the seizure.
Reports are that about 2:30 pm, a police team was on patrol in the area when they spotted a man on a bicycle who aroused their suspicion. The officers approached the man and searched him, during which two 9mm pistols and eight 9mm rounds of ammunition were found. He was taken into custody. His identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
