KINGSTON, Jamaica — Cyber-Crime Unit boss Inspector Warren Williams has said that his outfit has not received a report from the daughter of Government MP and People’s National Party (PNP) Region 6 Chairman, Dr DK Duncan that her Facebook account has been hacked.

Dr Khia Duncan had claimed on social media site Twitter, that Nationwide journalist Abka Fitz-Henley had hacked her account due to tweets he had made.

Government Senator Imani Duncan-Price, who is Khia Duncan’s sister, told OBSERVER ONLINE last week: “What we are trying to figure out with the Cybercrimes Unit is how to find that culprit because as you know hacking one’s account is illegal.”

On Tuesday, Williams said that he wasn’t aware of any investigation by his unit into the purported hacking.

“We are not aware of any such breach or any such report. Normally once a report of a cybercrime breach comes in, the Cybercrime Unit will be brought into action,” Williams said.

“Now it is to find out if the report was made at the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch where the Cybercrime Unit sits or was it reported to a local police station. Once it has been reported there then it is the duty of the local police to get in touch with the specialist unit to assist in the investigation. I’m yet to hear of that,” Williams added.

Fitz-Henley has since secured legal representative to clear his name of the hacking allegation made by Khia Duncan.
