Tropical Storm Danny still no threat to Jamaica –Met Office
KINGSTON, Jamaica – At 4:00 pm today, the centre of Tropical Storm Danny was located about 2,130 kilometres east of the Lesser Antilles.
This is according to the Meteorological Service of Jamaica.
In a news release Wednesday, the Met service said that Danny is moving toward the west near 17 km/h. A west north-westward motion at a slightly slower forward speed is expected during the next 48 hours.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 85 km/h, with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Danny could become a hurricane by Friday.
However, at this time, Tropical Storm Danny is still not a threat to Jamaica at this time.
