#BEIJING2015: One event to go in women’s Heptathlon
KINGSTON, Jamaica – With only the 800 metres left in the women’s Heptathlon, Jamaica’s Salcia Slack is in 28th position on 4,720 points.
On day two of competitions at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China, she participated in the Long Jump and Javelin Throw, bringing to six the number of events she has completed.
Slack recorded a jump of 5.54 metres in the Long Jump and a distance of 36.11m in the Javelin Throw.
Britain’s Jessica Ennis-Hill continues to lead the women’s Heptathlon on 5,706 points, but her compatriot Katarina Johnson-Thompson who was in second place, dropped to 29th position on 4,583 points after recording three fouls in the Long Jump.
Nadine Broersen of the Netherlands now sits in second place on 5,620 points, while Canada’s Briane Theisen Eaton is in third on 5,612 points.
