Butchers murdered by thieves posing as goat sellers
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – Hoodlums reportedly lured two butchers into bushes in the vicinity of Dyke Road in Portmore, St Catherine on Sunday, before robbing them of money then killing them there.
When contacted, the police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) identified the victims as 39-year-old Martin Coleman and 26-year old Kadian Richards both of King Weston district in Lawrence Tavern.
Residents reported hearing explosions about 10:05 am and summoned the police.
On the arrival of the lawmen, Coleman and Richards were seen with multiple gunshot wounds, CCU said.
They were pronounced dead at hospital.
Further reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that the men were in the area to purchase goats at the time of the incident. The killers allegedly posed as goat sellers then committed the act.
A 13-year-old male relative of the victims who accompanied them was unharmed, OBSERVER ONLINE was told.
The police are investigating.
