JUTC extends special summer fare
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) says it has extended its special summer fare for adult passengers.
Managing Director Colin Campbell said the special summer fare, a flat $100 for adult passengers, will be further extended until October 31. On November 1, the JUTC will return to the $120 which is the usual adult fare on its buses.
“We are simply doing more for our passengers,” Campbell said of the company’s decision to extend the special summer fare beyond the September 26 date it had announced.
Campbell said that the JUTC has responded to feedback from the commuting public which has welcomed the summer special.
He repeated that the company had seen an encouraging increase in the number of adult passengers since its introduction of the special summer fare on July 5.
The company’s Premium and Express Services are not included in the special summer fare arrangement.
