Woman dead, multiple injuries reported following three-vehicle crash on Rose Hall main road
ST JAMES, Jamaica — A woman, said to be employed on a project now ongoing along the Rose Hall main road, died after she was hit by a motor vehicle a short while ago.
The dead woman has been identified as 22-year-old Bianca Wallace with reports saying that she was hit and dragged by a vehicle as she stood beside a tractor that was also involved in the incident.
Reports suggest that two female students are among multiple individuals who sustained injuries while travelling in a Toyota Hiace motor bus.
The injured have been rushed to hospital with their conditions currently unknown.
The bus, a Toyota Rush and tractor that was carrying out work as part of a pipe laying exercise were involved in the incident.
Reports are that the bus crashed into the tractor, hit the Toyota Rush and during that time the woman was hit. She later succumbed to her injuries.
Teams from the Jamaica Fire Brigade and the Jamaica Constabulary Force are currently on the scene.
There has been a massive build up of traffic following the incident with the police having had to turn one of the dual carriage ways into double lane traffic because one lane has been closed.
