KINGSTON, Jamaica – Frederick Callosingh, the district constable who was charged by the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) on September 1 for forgery, appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court today.

The fifty-two-year-old was granted bail in the sum of $300,000 with one to two sureties.

As conditions of his bail, a stop order was placed on his travel documents and he is to report to the Old Harbour Police Station daily between the hours of 6:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Allegations are that on June 6, police officers from the Old Harbour Police Station responded to a call from residents about breaches of the Noise Abatement Act in the Gutters Community.

Upon arrival at the premises, the lawmen requested the entertainment permit from the organisers of a party being held.

While perusing the document, they realised the authorising signature was that of a former commanding officer for the St Catherine South Division.

During preliminary investigations by the officers, it was unearthed that Callosingh allegedly forged the signature of the former commanding officer for a sum of $6,000.

A report was then made to MOCA, which led to the subsequent arrest and charge of Callosingh.

He is scheduled to reappear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court on October 13.
