Another man who claimed he attacked his woman out of jealousy after she allegedly reneged on her promise to break off her love affair with another man and stabbed her multiple times, was offered $200,000 bail on Tuesday.

Devon Cunningham, 45, was offered bail by RM Pusey after he explained to RM Pusey that he was overcome by rage and attacked his woman after she did not follow through with her promise to end her love affair.

The accused reportedly attacked the woman at their home on August 10 about 10:40 and used a knife to stab her on her breast, chest, stomach, and arm.

Cunningham was subsequently arrested and charged with unlawful wounding and when he was cautioned reportedly told the police: “Bwoy a temper and rage.”

On Tuesday when the matter was mentioned, the accused told the court that he and the complainant had been together for 12 years but that she left him last year after she went to do live-in work for nine months, despite his objections.

“After the live-in work up she never come back home, she find man in a Red Hills,” Cunningham told the magistrate.

But Cunningham told the court that he still wanted to be with the complainant, despite the affair.

“I love her … 12 years me wash, me cook me do everything,” he said.

Subsequently, he said that they later rekindled their relationship.

“We come back together and me say to her me want you fi change your ways and me tell her fi change her number and she agreed,” Cunningham said.

According to the accused, the complainant was looking for a new place and they both moved in together.

But, he said: “In the first week the person start to call her and talk after 11 and 12 and me ask her to change her number and she refused.”

Cunningham said one night he came home to find his clothes all packed together and when he questioned her she told him that his time had expired and he laughed it off.

Shortly after, he said she packed her clothes and left but came back and on another day she was home packing her clothes to leave when they had an argument and he attacked her.

But RM Pusey told him: “You haffi tek sleep mark death. She left you for nine months and come back. You might end up in prison and if she is dead you will be charged with murder and what does it profit you?’

Cunningham was then offered bail with a stern warning for him to stay away from the complainant who was not present in court.

“Naturally, naturally. I am staying far from her,” Cunningham replied.

He is return to court on October 7.
