KINGSTON, Jamaica — Fresh allegations were levelled against members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force after a 35-year-old man, who claimed that lawmen attempted to kill him on several occasions, was Wednesday night shot dead in Sandy Bay, Clarendon.
At the same time, praises for police officers who caught a suspect in their colleague’s murder swiftly turned to criticism after the accused escaped within hours of his arrest. In addition to the backlash, a policeman was shot and injured while pursuing the fugitive.
It is alleged that thugs in the area who aided his escape shot at the lawmen.
