Gunshot victim kills attacker in Manchester
MANCHESTER, Jamaica – An attempted robbery in Manchester last night turned deadly after the alleged robber was shot dead and his victim, a licensed firearm holder, was injured.
The deceased is identified as Alvin Green, 36, of Barnstable in the parish.
Police reports are that at about 8:50pm the complainant drove home and was entering his house in the Waltham area, when he was held up by Green and shot three times.
The man who is said to be in hospital nursing injuries but in stable condition reportedly returned the fire with his licensed firearm and Green was killed.
Police say Green was on bail for murder at the time of his death.
