Burger King fetes Special Olympics Jamaica
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Athletes who represented Jamaica at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles in the summer were feted by restaurant giants Burger King at their Constant Spring Road outlet recently.
Burger King’s Brand Manager Nicholas Mundell said he and his staff were glad for the chance to have one-to-one talks with the athletes. He said he was able to learn more about persons with intellectual disabilities.
Lorna Bell, the executive director of Special Olympics Jamaica, thanked the management and staff of Burger King for sticking with the sporting body for over 15 years.
The international Special Olympics programme aims to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities.
