Bedward zooms in on Latin market
SINGER Monsoon Bedward continues to eye the Latin American market, and plans to promote his first album there.
The album, Monsoon Storm, was recently released by CostaJamic Productions, an independent label he operates with Sergio Trex of Costa Rica.
The company has offices in Washington DC where Bedward lives, and in Costa Rica.
“The songs are different… soca, dancehall, lovers rock and roots. It shows my versatility as an artiste,” said Bedward.
Two songs, Keep on Loving You and Madiba, are being promoted in Costa Rica which he counts as a strong market.
Madiba, released early this year, is a tribute to South African icon Nelson Mandela.
The Clarendon-born Monsoon Bedward (given name Denton Bedward) has lived in Washington DC since the early 1990s.
Latin America has been one of dancehall/reggae’s thriving markets for over a decade. Sean Paul, Anthony B and Capleton are some of the acts who have performed in the region.
