To Put It Simply Red!

From Thought to Finish chef Akai Lindsay sautéed the ingredients for the chicken pasta dish.

‘Twas indeed a scarlet affair on Friday when the Heart Foundation of Jamaica (HFJ) in cooperation with Fidelity Motors and Bumble Bee Foods welcomed patrons to the Lawns of Jamaica House for the 26th anniversary of the Simply Red: Wine and Food Festival.

The four-hour food event, which was off to a slow start, shifted gears when reggae crooner Gem Myers took to the chandelier-lit Bumble Bee Foods booth to perform a cadre of her original hits, accompanied by a slew of other crowd favourites. Meanwhile, patrons indulged sumptuous local and Caribbean-infused fare from local chefs and caterers Jacqui Tyson, Theo Smith, Evrol Ebanks, George Matthews, and for the first time Bajan chef John Hazzard.

There was, also the Supreme Ventures Limited-sponsored fashion show spearheaded by Simply: Red fashion ambassador Keneea Linton-George, for which five designers from the Mission Catwalk: All Stars cast designed red dresses, which were later auctioned-off.

Saturday Social gives you a taste of the Caribbean flavour, flair and fashion.
