My God!

Popcaan on top for Hottraxx

Salute TEENation! Had to take a break to give all our favourite artistes some time to get back to the studio to make that lyrical magic that we love so much. But we are back, better than ever and now it’s time to take a look and listen to the newest and hottest ten local and international hits:Local List1.      My God – Popcaan

KICKOUT… In the top spot on the local list this week is the unruly boss himself Popcaan with his new single, My God. The song expresses Popcaan’s faith in the fact his God ‘nah mek him suffa’ and that things will get better but you just have to hold the faith. Big up to Popcaan for continuing to uplift the masses with his craft.

2.      Special Delivery – Vybz Kartel

Holding down the second place spot this week is ‘Adijah Di Worl Boss’ with Special Delivery.  The single, produced by Head Concussion Records, was only released a week ago and currently has over 38 thousand views on YouTube. Not bad for an incarcerated DJ.3.      ATM (All about The Money) – Alkaline

In third this week Mr Vendetta himself, with his new hit ATM. The music video for the song shows Alkaline at stage shows, having fun and hanging out at the mansion of Sean Kingston. I wonder if a collaboration is in the making… hmm I guess we will just have to wait and see.

4.      Everybody – Vybz Kartel

Continuing the ‘Mek Money‘ flow and slipping into the fourth place spot this week is Vybz Kartel with Everybody.5.      Obsession – Konshens

He may have slipped into fifth place but the ladies are still obsessed with Obsession by Konshens who rounds out our top five on the local list for this week. I wonder if Mike is a fan of this song hmmm.6.      Wah Gwan Bredrin – Masicka7.      Notice You – Kranium Ft Vanessa Bling8.      Pound a Rice – Vybz Kartel9.      If Annuh Money – Konshens10.  Ghetto People – ChronixxInternational List1.      Too Original – Major Lazer ft Elliphant and Jovi

In the number one spot this week is EDM DJ Extraordinaire Major Lazer with Too Original. The DJ went out of his comfort zone, sparking a party in the music video shot inside an average Russian-themed restaurant, inclusive of tubas, trombones, and a moustached little boy. And of course Vodka. It really was too original I guess.2.      Alive – Sia

In second place this week is the most mysterious maven in the music industry, Sia, with her new single Alive. Apparently the Australian singer/songwriter had a case of buyer’s remorse as the song was originally written for Adele, and was then offered to Rihanna who then returned the song to a much relieved Sia. Is it that Sia didn’t feel as if the song was right for RiRi or maybe she just never wanted her to sing it? Questions that need answers.3.      Till It Happens to You – Lady Gaga

Landing the third spot this week is Lady Gaga with Till It happens To You. The superstar used her influence and far reaching appeal to speak to a very sensitive issue: sexual assault. Gaga encourages anyone who is in this situation to speak out and get help. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the song will be donated to organizations helping survivors of sexual assault.4.      On My Mind – Ellie Goulding

In fourth place this week is Ellie Goulding with On My Mind. The song has been doing very well since its release and currently has over eight million views on YouTube. Kudos to Ellie.5.      Sunset – Farruka ft Shaggy and Nicky Jam

Rounding out the top five for international hits this week is Farukka with Sunset.6.      Same Old Love – Selena Gomez8.      Pure Grinding – Avicii9.      Back Together – Robin Thicke ft Nicki Minaj10.  In Love with a Monster – Fifth Harmony

7.      Wildest Dreams – Taylor Swift
