Zimbabwean preacher says God is the answer for Jamaica

Zimbabwean preacher says God is the answer for Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Zimbabwean preacher Passion Java has wasted no time since arriving in Jamaica last Friday, having ministered at some six church services since his arrival.

The prophet last visited Jamaica in March this year, and since then he has grown increasingly popular in the western region.

On Sunday he preached at four services: two at Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Portmore, St Catherine, one at Fellowship Tabernacle in Kingston between those services and at the New Life Community Church in Spanish Town.

He then went on to minister to hundreds of people at the New Life Community Worship Centre on Monday and Tuesday.

The 27-year-old prophet travelled to the island from the Bahamas where he was ministering. While there, the prophet is reported to have accurately foretold congregants at the Kingdom Embassy Church that Hurricane Joaquin – a category three hurricane that was expected to hit the island – that it would not affect the island despite several weather forecasts to the contrary.

But has his age affected how people respond to him?

Java told OBSERVER ONLINE on Wednesday that it is a blessing to serve God in his youth.

“An old man cannot do what I (do), like preach four services on a Sunday, with healing and deliverance and prophecy. It is a lot of work and you need energy and youth,” Java explained.

“In John it says ‘I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong’,” he added.

The preacher explained that once he starts ministering, people who are usually sceptical are convinced based on the detail and accuracy of his prophecies. He also said he does not mind being called “brother” instead of a prophet.

“If people can believe the prophetic movement that God is releasing in Jamaica, then they are going to see a change economically… business-wise; all this crime thing they are gonna be settled because a prophet represents God,” Java told OBSERVER ONLINE.

“God is sending me with a message, not only for the people that are going to the service, but for the whole of Jamaica,” he stated.

When quizzed about his thoughts on Minister of National Security Peter Bunting’s stance that the country needs divine intervention to tackle the crime problem, he said that God is the answer for Jamaica and God will answer his people through a prophet.

The Harare-based preacher will be ministering at EAC Portmore on Wednesday and Saturday of this week and at the Slipe Road branch on Friday.

Java is being hosted in Jamaica by Bishop Everton Thomas and his wife, Jillian.
