Do not compromise your product!
“Do not compromise and water down your product to keep up with the competition… ” shared Donette Prendergast, Owner of Prendy’s on the Beach, located in Hellshire Beach, Portmore.
Recently, Ms Prendergast enlightened members of The Young Investors’ Club (YIC) of the University of the West Indies Mona Campus. This event took place during one of their weekly meetings in GLT3, at the Mona School of Business and Management (North).
She encouraged the young group to never lose faith in their dreams. “Don’t cut your expectations because of cost of living. If it is your dream, go for it. A caterpillar can turn into a beautiful butterfly.” She also expressed ideals of integrity and courage. She also encouraged that every business person keep a tight record of their finances.
Ms Prendergast believes that her customers should only consume top quality ingredients. Her presentation included several tips for cooking delicious seafood. She feels that excluding black pepper has had positive effects on the stomach.
After the proceedings, teenBOSS spoke with first year Accounting Major, Lando Graham. He shared that he had learned the following: “Be careful of who you share your business plan with. Deliver what you promise and the customers will never stop coming. After all, determination and hope will bring you a far way.”
