Man to face court for using customer’s money
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Twenty-six-year-old Steven Hunter of Bramwell Avenue in Kingston, was arrested and charged by police attached to the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) on Friday.
Allegations are that in July 2015, the accused received two cheques amounting to $294,000 to cover an invoice.
He then reportedly split the payments in portions and applied some to the customer’s account, then allegedly created a phony credit note to clear another customer’s account and converted the funds for his own use.
A report was made to C-TOC and Hunter was later arrested and charged. He is scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, where he will answer to the charge of falsification of account.
