Crawford unapologetic about approach to politics
KINGSTON, Jamaica — People’s National Party (PNP) Member of Parliament for St Andrew East Rural, Damion Crawford, says he is unapologetic for his approach to politics.
Crawford was addressing thousands of party supporters at a PNP mass rally in Annotto Bay, St Mary on Sunday.
He said that he has been rapped for his focus on education, but he will not be stirred.
“I am not sorry; when it comes to education we took most schools off shift. Every child should have equal access and opportunities so when it comes to education we nah stop the progress we are ‘gassing’ the progress,” the nationally popular MP said to shouts of agreement while maintaining that his support for the PNP remains strong.
Moreover, he said while the PNP is not perfect, it is better than the Jamaica Labour Party at this point.
Crawford lost his bid to represent the PNP in the next general election in a selection exercise last month, when he polled 166 of the delegates’ votes to businessman Peter Blake’s 217.
