Alrobe International Corporation Limited introduced German lubricant and car-care producer Bizol to the local market on Wednesday night at The Courtleigh Hotel and Suites, New Kingston.

“As a company, we are always on the technological edge and as we deal primarily with European and high-end automobiles Bizol is a perfect fit for the Jamaican consumer, and us,” Robert Walker, director of Alrobe Enterprise, told Auto.

The extensive line up of products are all made in Germany to high technological standards.

“We work with many of the laboratories of the major auto manufacturers to meet or exceed their own standards for engine and transmissions including Japanese,” Natalya Priegnitz, Sales Regional Manager for South America, Central America and Carribean — Bizol, explained.

Priegnitz pointed out that many of the issues currently affecting the Jamaican motorists come from the fact that many of the lubricants don’t conform to the manufacturer’s specifications, especially in regards to the higher level of technology in modern vehicles, such as direct-injection.

The Bizol motor oils conform to the higher European ACEA standard over the American API standard. Priegnitz also indicated that not all synthetic oils are the same as Bizol uses the more advanced polyalphaolefin (PAO) base instead of the common HC base.

“Thicker oils don’t necessarily provide the best protection,” she said.

Explaining that the numbers on a bottle of oil are for external operating temperatures not those being experienced by the engine, PAO synthetics offer better protection on start up and can withstand the higher temperatures and pressures within a modern motor.

Bizol also produces cleaning additives for gasoline and diesel motors along with car care products such as air conditioner cleaner.

“This product has no other competition on the market,” she explained.
