Muschett bounce back to beat St James
WAKEFIELD, Trelawny — Muschett High bounced back from Monday’s loss to Cornwall College to beat St James High 60-38 in their ISSA Western Conference boys Under-16 basketball game played in Wakefield, Trelawny on Thursday.
Defending champions Herbert Morrison Technical and Holland High are both on 10 points at the top of the tables, followed by Muschett High and Cornwall College on nine each, with St James now on five points and William Knibb Memorial on four.
After a slow start and trailing after the third quarter, Muschett revved up their game in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Montego Bay school 28-4.
Three players had double-doubles for Muschett who led 7-6 after the first quarter, were behind 17-26 at half- time but rallied to cut the lead to two points 32-34 going into the fourth quarter.
Michael Tomlinson scored a game-high 20 points and had 10 rebounds and five steals for Muschett, Raheem McKenzie scored 10 points and had 30 rebounds and five steals, while Akeem Baker scored 10 points and had 14 steals, eight rebounds and eight assists.
Trey Brown scored 14 points for St James High and had seven rebounds and six steals, while Kevaughn Bradford scored 13 points.
