Scorpions captain claims no batting worry
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica Scorpions Captain Paul Palmer says there was no panic about the team’s batting despite a poor showing in their opening two games of the 2015-16 WICB Professional Cricket League (PCL).
There was improvement in the third game away to Trinidad & Tobago Red Force at Queen’s Park Oval last weekend.
On the back of Andre McCarthy’s century, the Scorpions made 291 in their first innings. In their second-innings run-chase, opener John Campbell struck an unbeaten half century to guide the visitors to victory at 156-4.
“We weren’t worried about the batting because it was just early season and we expected as the season went on, the batting would come on a bit better. You can see it’s coming on now,” Palmer told OBSERVER ONLINE.
The Scorpions’ next game in the PCL is slated to be against Leeward Islands Hurricanes at Sabina Park, starting December 4.
