Nobody’s speakers was ready for this! *multiple fire emojis*.  On Friday November 27 the world’s eardrums were blessed with the poetic lyrics of two of the greatest rappers of this generation: Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole.Black Friday were more than fitting given what day it was. For those of us who didn’t get to participate in the sale of the year, it’s pretty safe to say that this gift was more than just a gift, it was a blessing and we were quite content. 

The two rappers on Friday night took to the social media platform Twitter and both tweeted a Soundcloud link to their new songs along with the handle of the other. The songs, both entitled

Both songs spat straight fire as Kendrick rapped over the beat to A Tale of 2 Citiez on J. Cole’s platinum album 2014 Forest Hills Drive while J. Cole sang over the hit song Alright on Kendrick’s latest album To Pimp A Butterfly, which hit gold.Reminiscing took the internet earlier this year and if this is indeed true and the two will be collaborating, the internet is going to shut down.

Some even have a theory that the respective endings to the two songs could be hinting at a release entitled Burnin’ The Leather. Cole’s rap ends with the rhyming of the words ‘clever’ and ‘never’ , before teasing a February release of some sort, while Kendrick’s rap ends abruptly with the words “burning the leather-“.
