SPANISH TOWN, St Catherine — GC Foster FC advanced to the second round of the St Catherine FA/Happy Sutherland Knockout competition after clipping Windsor Lion 2-1 at the weekend.

Jamoy Sibbles got both goals for the college students, netting the opener in the 18th minute, before firing home the winner 10 minutes from time.

Shawn Beckford had equalised for Windsor in the 40th minute of play.

Other first-round winners are Royal Lakes, Marcus Garvey United, Christian Pen, Bodles FC, Naggo Head, Federal United, and New Raiders.

Royal Lakes beat EPP 2-1, with Sheldon Pinnock and Andrew Reid getting the goals. Akeem Campbell scored a stoppage-time consolation for EPP.

Federal, courtesy of a Bryan Bayliss 36th-minute strike, edged Tredegar Park 1-0; while Marcus Garvey thrashed Travellers 4-0, and Christian Pen eased by Hellshire United 4-1.

Elsewhere, Bodles blanked McCooks Pen 2-0, Naggo Head stopped Rodwood 1-0, while New Raiders needed penalties to eliminate Spanish Town Police 4-2 following a 1-1 stalemate in full and extra time.
