Oriel shows renewed Confidence

IT has been a busy year for Dominican singer Oriel. He released two EPs and performed on Rebel Salute and Reggae Sumfest.

The 31-year-old artiste is

relaunching the campaign for Confidence, lead song from his second EP, Confidence 2.0.

“Confidence got a lot of love when it was released a few years ago, but we know that it has vast potential…way beyond what it has already achieved,” he explained. “We subsequently did a fresh mix, put on some background vocals and had it re-mastered by (Grammy-nominated British producer) Daniel Boyle for Confidence 2.0.”

The song is complemented by a music video that was filmed in Kingston.

Confidence was initially released in 2012. The original version was co-produced by Oriel and Lloyd ‘Cookie’ Willacy, his Afar Music Group colleague.

Oriel has lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, since 2001. A big fan of reggae since his early years in Dominica, he has worked with a number of Jamaican acts including Richie Stephens on Give Me A Reason and Bugle, with whom he did My Love.

Oriel plans to tour Europe in 2016, and release his first album.
