Under-20 Women’s Update: Busby deputises for absent Menzies
SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras — Assistant Coach Hubert Busby will fill in for Hue Menzies on the Jamaica Under-20 Women’s team bench for their opening two games of the CONCACAF Under-20 Women’s tournament here.
Due to another work commitment, Menzies, the Under-20 head coach, departed for the United States on Thursday and is set to return to the Central American country on Sunday, which means missing two of the Young Girlz’s Group A games.
Jamaica will first tackle the hosts Honduras late on Thursday, before challenging group favourites Canada on Saturday.
“Throughout the entire preparation for an event like this we’ve always coached as a team so the philosophy injected hasn’t changed. I feel very confident in the staff we have here”, Menzies told OBSERVER ONLINE.
Lorne Donaldson, the head coach of the Under-17 Reggae Girlz, who recently won the Caribbean title, will support Busby on the touchline.
