Transport group condemns killing of taxi man
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services (TODSS) condemns the gruesome killing of yet another taxi man in St James.
In a press release TODSS said that the gunmen are hell bent on disrupting the social and economic stability of not only the transport sector but the entire country.
“This continued action on the sector lend us to believe that there is no solution to the wanton killing of members of the public transport sector, and there is no intention to take matters in our own hands at this time and therefore we are calling for an urgent meeting with the Minister of National Security and the Commissioner of Police to look at how we can find a way to address this dilemma in the sector,” the release said.
Over 40 taxi operators were killed since the start of the year, two within the last 24 hours.
