W’house earn 2-2 draw versus Tivoli
Waterhouse FC and 10-man Tivoli Gardens FC drew 2-2 in the second-round Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) game at Drewsland yesterday.
It was Paul Young’s first point after returning as the Waterhouse head coach.
Seeming to enjoy the return of the former Jamaica player, it did not take Waterhouse long to settle. Only 10 minutes into the game, Kemar Beckford put the home team ahead with a headed goal.
This early setback gave Tivoli Gardens the cue that it was not going to be an easy afternoon against cellar-placed Waterhouse. On the 25-minute mark, Junior Flemming brought the teams level following some indifferent marking from Shamari Dyer, who was shifted to the unfamiliar role of defending against one of top goal poachers in the RSPL.
Both teams went to the break with the scores level. However after the resumption, Tivoli Gardens took the lead through Andre McFarlane in minute 62. This was short-lived as Kenroy Howell equalised four minutes later.
Tivoli Gardens went down to ten players in the 70th minute when Ranikie Anderson was red-carded by referee Valdin Legister for his second bookable offence.
Waterhouse found the back of the net close to full time, but the goal was disallowed.
