ICAJ’s Golden Gala
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) hosted its 50th Anniversary banquet inside the Grand Jamaican Suite at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel on Thursday to mark the culmination of the company’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
The Golden Gala-themed reception served to honour stalwarts of the sector and accounting magnates. One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Distinguished Member Award to Don Wehby, fellow of ICAJ and group chief executive officer of GraceKennedy Limited and a member of the ICAJ, who has contributed, through his outstanding achievements, to the prestige and status of the Institute and the accountancy profession. Offering his congratulations, Bruce Scott, president, ICAJ, described Don Wehby as “…an exemplar of the profession”, adding that “the ICAJ is pleased to recognise [him] as this year’s Distinguished Member Awardee, especially during this, our 50th Anniversary celebrations. May we continue to be inspired by his sterling contributions to the profession, the private sector, the Government and the nation.” Here are the highlights.
