Support, scepticism greet Lady Saw’s baptism
Support and scepticism yesterday greeted Lady Saw’s Christian baptism Monday night in a private service at Emmanuel Apostolic Church on Slipe Road in Kingston.
The deejay, whose real name is Marion Hall, announced her decision to become a servant of the Lord on the social media site
Instagram at approximately 3:50 pm Monday, after attending the funeral of dancehall singjay J Capri at the University Chapel earlier.
The post triggered immediate comments from her fans, mostly in support of her decision.
A photo and story of the baptism posted on the
Jamaica Observer website at approximately 9:26 pm went viral, and since then readers have been commenting.
Though there were a few people who could not resist describing her decision as a publicity stunt, most of the online readers are in her corner. Some even came out in her defence.
Yesterday,
OBSERVER ONLINE sought the public’s views.
