Skunk Nation gives back
CORPORATE Area car club Skunk Nation made Christmas merry for a few children when it handed over the proceeds from their annual charity event, held on December 5, to the Mary’s Child Shelter for Girls in St Andrew on December 12.
“Mary’s Child thanks Skunk Nation for well- needed items. It is very encouraging to see young persons giving back to the less fortunate among us,” Nadia Williams, administrator at Mary’s Child, told Auto.
According to Nick Lue, one of the Skunk Nation founders, ITN Xmas Charity for the Kids, held three Saturday’s ago at Susie’s Bakery and Coffee Bar, raised $60,000 and patrons donated 100 toys. Some of what was collected will also find its way to the Maxfield Park Children’s Home.
“We couldn’t have done it without our main sponsors Sparkles Productions and Truck Stop. We got a great turnout and support, not only from Kingston, but out-of-towners as well,” Lue said.
