KINGSTON, Jamaica — Young Reggae Boy Kevaughn Frater departs the island on Wednesday to join the Real Monarch’s United Soccer League (USL) team on a one-year loan contract.

The Harbour View football club attacker has been touted as one of the most promising young players of the sport after impressing during his tenure at Jamaica College and in the Harbour View FC Academy development system.

The offer was made after the 21-year-old along with teammate Jorginho James gave a creditable display while on invitation to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Combine in Florida.

The MLS Franchise Real Salt Lake Technical Team in a follow-up offered a loan contract in their second-tier squad at the Real Monarchs, USL until December.

At the completion at the contract, analysis of Frater’s performance will be done to determine if his  term will be extended.

The fleet-footed player, who was a part of the national Under-23 team during their Olympic qualification campaign, caught the eyes of Reggae Boyz Head Coach, Winifred Schafer.

He was later selected to senior squad for the two recent FIFA World Cup qualifying games against Panama and Haiti respectively.
