Trainer Anthony ‘Baba’ Nunes said that he was disappointed with Megatron’s win in a maiden condition race at Caymanas Park on Wednesday.

Megatron, ridden by Shane Ellis, won by one-and-a-quarter lengths over Classy Aviator (Aaron Chatrie up) in the native-bred three-year-old event over 1,300 metres in a decent time of 1:21.2 minutes behind splits of 23.3, 46.3 and 1:13.2 minutes.

The roan colt by Seeking The Glory – Chikiney opened up an eight-length lead on the field approaching the home bend before coming back in the last furlong to score his first win from two starts.

“His ( Megatron) performance today (Wednesday) was very poor…it was ordinary. I am very disappointed with him on how he finished the race,” Nunes told Jamaica Observer.

“We thought that he would come out here and do well against these. I figured that when the rider asked him to go at the top of the lane he would just run off but he didn’t, instead he slowed down and struggled home and so I am very disappointed in his performance,” Nunes further explained.
