Mighty Crown, Rory go ‘hardcore’ in Japan
Japanese sound system Mighty Crown and veteran Stone Love selector Rory recently took fans on a musical journey with their Back To The Hardcore show, held in the cities of Yokohama and Osaka in Japan.
It was the first time that both shared the same stage in many years. Dancehall and reggae sounds from the 1980’s and 1990s were the focus of their presentations.
“Having Rory on Back To The Hardcore was such a rewarding experience, especially since we (and most selectors) were influenced by Rory’s work over the years,” said Sami T of Mighty Crown, which launched the series more than 15 years ago to educate fans about Jamaican music.
Back To The Hardcore was also held in the city of Nagoya.
Mighty Crown’s year-long 25th anniversary celebrations, billed #Crown25, starts in late March in North America. Dates run until May and ends in Europe.
Mighty Crown’s members are Masta Simon, Sami-T, Cojie, and Ninja.
