House of Representatives resumes normal sitting Tuesday
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Regular sittings of the House of Representatives will resume on Tuesday, March 22. However, the agenda for the meeting is not yet available.
It is likely that former Minister of Labour and Social Security Derrick Kellier will be sworn in, however, following the confirmation of his victory in Southern St James by the results of last week’s magisterial recount.
But, there has been no indication as to whether the other unsworn member, former Minister of Transport, Works and Housing, Dr Omar Davies (Southern St Andrew), will be able to attend to be sworn in.
The new Leader of Government Business Derrick Smith visited Gordon House yesterday, to confirm the meeting, and to consult with the Clerk to Parliament Heather Cooke on matters falling under his new position
The House met on Thursday for the swearing in of the new members following the February 25 General Election.
