Jamaican home on vacation shot and injured in hold-up
ST JAMES, Jamaica — A Jamaican who now resides in the United States, and who is home on vacation, was shot and injured during an armed robbery in Montego Bay, St James last night.
According to a highly placed police source, the man, who reportedly hails from St James, was walking along Gloucester Avenue about 9:30 pm, in the company of a female, when he was set upon and robbed of unknown possessions by two armed thugs.
He was shot in the shoulder by one of the robbers before they took off.
The female was said to be unharmed during the attack while the wounded man was taken to hospital where he was admitted and is said to be in a stable condition.
The St James police are investigating.
