St Bess FA lift Magnum St Elizabeth Major League title

St Bess FC defeated Black River FC 2-1 at St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) to capture the Magnum St Elizabeth Major League title recently.

Cleon Barrett opened the scoring for St Bess in the fifth minute, but this was cancelled out by Kareem Lewis in the 9th minute with a beautiful strike from the top of the box. The half ended 1-1.

This game was played over 80 minutes because of a late start caused by the third-place play-off game.

Three minutes into the second half, Kirk Wright made it 2-1 in favour of St Bess. Both teams tried valiantly to change the scoreline, but that was not to be.

St Bess FC were winning the trophy after being promoted last year.

Captain Sean Fogo said that his team played exceptionally well and are now eyeing the Confederation play-off tournament.
