Education Ministry to assist in burial of Port Henderson Primary student

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of Education, Youth and Information has offered to provide financial assistance towards the funeral for Kemeisha Butler, a student of Port Henderson Primary School in St Catherine who died recently in hospital.

Officials from the Ministry’s Region Six office will convey this decision to the family of the deceased today.

In addition, the Education Ministry said in a release late Wednesday that it has begun to investigate the circumstances of the Grade Two student’s death to determine whether or not her illness and subsequent death was attributable to curricular activities.

The ministry expresses condolences to the relatives and friends of Kemeisha and wishes for them God’s peace and comfort during their time of sorrow.
