Three Guyanese men charged in connection with execution-style killings

GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC) — Three men have been charged in connection with the recent execution style killings that took place in the community of Charlestown, on the outskirts of the capital, Georgetown.

When they appeared in court here on Thursday, Velnon Thorne, 30 and Trifton Parris,21, were jointly charged for the April 1 murder of Gladston Taylor .

The police report that Taylor was gunned down in what is believed to have been a revenge hit.

Thorne and Parris were remanded until April 29.

In another incident, Dellon Small was charged for the March 29 execution of Guyana Defence Force (GDF) soldier, Kevon Payne.

Small was remanded until April 30.

Thorne is the brother of the Payne – investigators believe the soldier’s murder could be connected the death of Taylor.
