Quake rattles Dominica
ROSEAU, Dominica (CMC) The Trinidad-based Seismic Research Centre (SRC) of the University of the West Indies (UWI) said that the quake occurred at 8:36 am (local time) at a depth of five kilometres.
It said that the earthquake was located 50 kilometres (km) north of the capital and 58 km south south-east of Point-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe and 131 km north north-west of Fort-de-France in Martinique.
In recent months, the Caribbean has recorded several tremors. Last week, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 rocked sections of Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada.
