FROME, Westmoreland — Granville FC stayed on course for the double and their first title in 16 years in the Jamaica Football Federation Charley’s JB Rum Western Confederation Super League after beating first-time semi-finalists Beaches Negril 2-0 in Sunday’s return-leg semi-finals at Frome for a 3-1 aggregate.

Veterans Odane Snow and David Gillard scored in the last 10 minutes of regulation as the game appeared to be heading to extra-time to secure the win for the mid-season champions.

In the final which will be played on May 1, Granville FC will face first-time finalists Sandals Whitehouse, who beat former champions Wadadah FC 1-0 for a 3-2 aggregate win in the other game on Sunday.

Granville FC had to come from behind in the first game, played at Jarrett Park the previous Sunday, but the teams were goalless until the 80th minute when Snow, who returned to the team this season after playing with Faulkland FC last season, got the first goal in the 80th minute.

David Gillard confirmed the victory and qualification for the final when he scored Granville FC’s second goal in the 90th minute.

In the other game, Romario Levy scored for Sandals Whitehouse in the 23rd minute to break the 2-2 tie from the first leg and this time Wadadah FC were not able to respond as they did twice the week prior.
