OUR wants JPS report on power outage by mid-week
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) has written to the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) asking the company to provide information about the power outage which affected a wide cross-section of its customers on Sunday, April 17.
The OUR said in a news release Monday that it expects to receive the preliminary report by mid-week.
The OUR said the preliminary report on the outage would be a precursor to a more detailed report, which JPS is obliged to submit to the OUR within 30 days of restoration of power.
This preliminary report, the OUR said, should indicate the nature and impact of the outage on the generation, transmission and distribution systems, and on its supply to customers.
