The Opposition today called on the Ministry of Labour and Social Security to clarify reports that benefits under the Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH) have been cut.
The ministry advised on Thursday that there has been no reduction in the benefits provided by the PATH Programme.
In a statement to the media, the ministry reminded beneficiaries that children attending primary and secondary schools are required to maintain an 85 per cent attendance record in order to receive the full payment of their benefits.
The ministry also said the April 15th payment is based on school attendance during the months of January and February.
Beneficiaries who have queries on their payments are being asked to contact the ministry’s office in their respective parishes.
The ministry said it remains committed to addressing the concerns of beneficiaries and to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable members of our society.
