Real McKoy salutes Jeans&Bally
KEEPING with recent trends in dancehall music, deejay/producer Real McKoy salutes a popular dress code with the song, Jeans&Bally.
The track, released in 2014, is back on the market through Train Line Records. It is a ‘combination’ with Anthony B.
“It’s about leisure wear. Everybody a talk about Clarks, so we decide that we have to come back with something original weh most Jamaican know ’bout,” said Real McKoy.
“Clarks” refers to the British shoe that has been popular with Jamaicans and dancehall/reggae artistes for over 40 years. Vybz Kartel had a big hit in 2010 with the song Clarks.
Real McKoy is the alter ego of producer Gilmore ‘Gilly’ Walters, the head of Train Line Records, which is based in Hallandale, Florida.
Jeans&Bally is an homage to the universally popular denim as well as Bally, the Switzerland shoe that has been around since 1851. That brand is also a longtime favourite among Jamaican entertainers.
Real McKoy has recently revived promotion for the song. He plans to release a video as part of its summer campaign.
