Cornwall Regional Hospital postpones lab reopening
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The management at the Cornwall Regional Hospital (CRH) in St James says there has been a delay in the reopening of it laboratory as it seeks to repair the ventilation system.
The reopening of the lab, which was scheduled for today, will take place next Tuesday, a Western Regional Health Authority (WRHA) news release said Friday.
“The delay in the reopening of the lab is due to the need to ensure that repairs to the ventilation systems, which necessitated the temporary closure, are completed and at a standard that will allow for optimum service to clients and the comfort of staff,” the release read.
As a result, out-patients previously scheduled for tests will be affected.
In the meantime, the release said all blood donations are being handled at the isolation building located in the car park near to the Accident & Emergency Unit.
“The Board of Management of CRH apologies for any inconvenience this may cause and invites clients to call the hospital at 952-5100-9 prior to coming for lab related services.”
