Body of student swept away by floodwaters found
ST THOMAS, Jamaica – OBSERVER ONLINE has learnt that the body of the student who was reportedly swept away by floodwaters in St Thomas yesterday, has been found.
The student, who attended Paul Bogle High School, was one of three students who were reportedly trapped in raging floodwaters in the Golden Grove area of Hampton Court yesterday.
The student’s identity has not been revealed.
Reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that about 5:00 pm, the students were crossing the roadway when they were trapped by raging floodwaters caused by heavy rains. Residents reportedly rescued two of the students but the third was swept away.
She was later found along a roadway in the parish. She is suspected to have drowned.
